Are you curious about the foods included in the NFI Protocol? To give you a clearer idea of the NFI Protocol meal plans, we have compiled a list of foods used in the Protocol.
When the NFI Protocol was first introduced in 2017, we started with only a small selection of foods, carefully combined to stimulate a favourable lipolysis response during digestion. However, our team continually works on developing new lipolysis reactions using innovative and novel foods. Consequently, the list of foods has gradually expanded over time.
The current list of foods included in the NFI Protocol is provided below. For your convenience, we have organised them into categories: fruits, vegetables, pulses, cereals and ‘non-grain’ cereals, seeds and nuts, ready-made foods, and beverages. If your favourite fruit or vegetable is not on this list, please refrain from consuming it while following the NFI Protocol, and only reintroduce it after completing the protocol. Be sure to follow our complete instructions while adhering to the protocol.
Below the food list, you will also find information about which flavourings you may use during the NFI Protocol and, conversely, which ones should be strictly avoided.

Seasoning in the NFI Protocol
You can use common flavourings to season foods and meals during the NFI protocol. However, the chemical reactions in the protocol are affected by bay leaf, turmeric, and chilli. Typical flavourings found in the protocol include:
- Salt (ideally Himalayan),
- Ground black pepper,
- Ground sweet paprika,
- Vegetable stock (preferably Vitana Natur vegetable stock),
- Dried herbs (basil, oregano, rosemary, thyme, Provençal herbs, Italian herbs, etc.),
- Mustard (with whole mustard seeds),
- Apple cider vinegar,
- Use oils sparingly or not at all (coconut, rapeseed),
- Reduced salt soya sauce.
